These are services, products, and apps that I love and recommend – because I use them.
Domain Names
Namecheap is exactly what is says, inexpensive domain names. Not only are their domain names inexpensive but they also include free domain privacy. If you are not familiar with domain privacy it will typically cost you with other registrars and is a necessity. When you register your domain name you are required to give personal information that will be displayed publically if you do not have domain privacy. I made this mistake with the first domain name I bought. I have transferred all the domain names I have to Namecheap and would highly recommend them.
Webhosting
Webhosting is one of the places that can be a large pain point if you don’t get it right. I moved to SiteGround based on several recommendations and a lot of research in 2019 and could not be happier. I would highly recommend them.
Like most hosting companies SiteGround offers free email hosting for your domain and although Siteground is a great Webhost, email hosting and domain hosting are two different things. it’s not that their email hosting is bad but rather any email hosting on shared domain hosting runs the risk of your email becoming undeliverable which is why I recommend the inexpensive plans offered by G-Suite to host your email. If you’re a non-profit you can get G-Suites for free!
